Welcome to our cosy restaurant, Restaurant Ministeren. Our a lá carte menu offers a varied selection of starters, main dishes and desserts. We serve traditional food with a modern twist with fresh produce from the Trøndelag region. We have a good selection of wines and local beer.
AN EVENING IN THE MANOR
Enjoy a special evening in the fairy-talelike manor from 1904. Savour a delightful 3 – 5 course dinner with some of the best produce Trøndelag has to offer.
For the best experience, we recommend a guided tour or storytelling in the manor before dinner – maybe with a fresh and sparkly aperitif in your hand.

LOCAL FARMERS
We enjoy a close cooperation with local farms and food producers, and receive regular supplies of fresh produce from the village and surrounding area. We usually offer the following products on our menus and buffets.
- Cheeses from Orkladal Cheese Factory
- Eggs from Storkvikne Farm
- Butter and sour cream from Fannremsgården Farm
- Potatoes from Solhus Farm
- Cheeses from Grindal Cheese Factory
- Vegetables from Skjølberg Søndre
We buy meat from local farms and seasonal produce from the valley, such as game, berries and mushrooms. We also grow some of our own vegetables and herbs, and we bake our own bread and cakes.
REGIONAL PRODUCE
We are right in the heart of a rich agricultural region with fantastic produce from the forest, mountain and sea – most of the produce is only a couple of hours’ drive away! Here are some examples of the produce we serve from the Trøndelag region:
- Fish and shellfish – Hitra and Frøya
- Game – Orkdal/Hitra/Røros
- Beef – Meråker/local farms
- Chicken and duck – Ytterøy
- Strawberries – Lensvik
- Berries and mushrooms – Orkdal
- Vegetables and potatoes – Orkdal (some vegetables are home grown)
