Booking Assistant in a 50% Position

What will your main duties and responsibilities be?

The position as booking assistant involves handling all incoming guest inquiries in a sales-oriented, accurate, and efficient manner. You will handle requests related to meetings, courses, and conferences, as well as inquiries about salmon fishing and private events. Your role is to create a positive guest experience, ensure effective sales and upselling of services, and pay close attention to detail so that the hotel’s operational departments can focus on their role as hosts. You will be responsible for ensuring that all guest and event information is accurately managed, updated, and entered into the relevant systems in use. You will also act as a host, welcoming meeting, course, and conference guests, conducting showings of our event spaces, and holding planning meetings with guests ahead of events such as confirmations and weddings.

What qualifications are we looking for in our new booking assistant?

We are not necessarily looking for someone with a specific background. However, previous experience in the hotel industry is a great advantage. You have solid computer skills, and familiarity with hotel systems is a plus. Being sociable, you possess strong verbal and written communication skills. A quality-conscious mindset, an eye for detail, and an understanding of guest expectations are important qualities. Confidence is key, as you are not afraid to speak up and contribute among colleagues. Busy days suit you well. You handle them effectively by staying organized, structured, and able to prioritize and maintain focus.
