The run-up to Christmas at Bårdshaug Herregård offers a variety of experiences for guests of all ages. Every year from mid-November, the hotel fills with a warm and cosy festive atmosphere, the nostalgic scents of traditional Christmas food and home baking, and pleasant conversation among relaxed guests enjoying a slower pace. We offer favourable rates on overnight stays when you book a table at Restaurant Ministeren, or a private party in Festsalen or Herregården, on the weekends leading up to Christmas.

Our Christmas lunch is a popular choice for end-of-year celebrations for companies and groups of 10 or more, often combined with the hire of one of our meeting rooms.

As is our tradition, we invite you to a family Christmas buffet at Bårdshaug Herregård on Sunday 13 December.
The buffet is served in festively decorated surroundings inside the hotel. We offer hot Christmas dishes, a large cold table with homemade and local treats, a dessert table, and coffee/tea - a lovely opportunity to enjoy a festive meal with friends and family before Christmas.
The buffet is available between 14:00 and 17:30, and we will reserve a table for you in Ministeren, Jaktbaren, or our banqueting hall, Festsalen.

Travelling to Bårdshaug Herregård
Orkanger is located along the E39 highway, and is a central hub in the region. It is a 30 minutes’ drive away from Trondheim, Løkken, Lensvik, Kyrksæterøra, Melhus and the E6 near Klett. The distance from Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately one hour. From Røros, Oppdal and Hitra it will take you a couple of hours by car. Travelling by public transport? The hotel is a two minute walk from Orkanger bus station. From here there are frequent bus services to and from Trondheim. See ATB for bus schedules.
