At the historic Bårdshaug Herregård, you will find Restaurant Ministeren.
Here, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming — a favorite among both hotel guests and locals. We serve honest, authentic food while playing with international and modern influences. Whenever possible, we use seasonal ingredients from Trøndelag — preferably from right here in Orkland.

Bårdshaug Herregård is perfectly situated in the heart of Trøndelag’s rich food region, with access to an abundance of outstanding ingredients from forest, mountain, sea, and shore. At the hotel’s restaurant you can enjoy authentic dishes made with ingredients sourced from across Trøndelag.

Bårdshaug Herregård works closely with local farms and producers, receiving regular deliveries from the surrounding countryside. Our seasonal menus often feature these local treasures: fish and shellfish from the Trøndelag coast, berries and vegetables from Landrø Lensvik, greens from Grindal and Frosta, a variety of cheeses from Orkladal Dairy, eggs from Storkvikne Farm, potatoes from Solhus Farm, meats and cured products from Renskleiv Farm and Steindalen Farm, chicken from Ytterøy, meat products from Meråker, game from local hunters or Røros, wild herbs from Trøndelag Sankeri, and honey from Fosslykkja apiary.

We also grow some of our own vegetables and herbs, forage mushrooms, berries, and wild plants ourselves, and have our own salmon smokehouse and beehives in the manor gardens during the summer.

A great meal deserves a great drink. Our drink menu includes carefully selected wines from various countries and regions, cider (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) from Inderøy Mosteri, and beer and soft drinks from Trøndelag. We also offer a fine selection of regional aquavits and other local specialties.

Bårdshaug Herregård offers both take-away and catering services featuring a selection of lunch dishes for our corporate clients, regardless of size. If you're hosting a meeting or a course in your own premises, "The Taste of Trøndelag" for lunch could be the perfect finishing touch for a complete meeting day.

 

Travelling to Bårdshaug Herregård

Orkanger is located along the E39 highway, and is a central hub in the region. It is a 30 minutes’ drive away from Trondheim, Løkken, Lensvik, Kyrksæterøra, Melhus and the E6 near Klett. The distance from Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately one hour. From Røros, Oppdal and Hitra it will take you a couple of hours by car. Travelling by public transport? The hotel is a two minute walk from Orkanger bus station. From here there are frequent bus services to and from Trondheim. See ATB for bus schedules.
