Unique culinary experiences at Restaurant Ministeren
At the historic Bårdshaug Manor, you will find Restaurant Ministeren. We create authentic food based on Norwegian traditions, but we also enjoy experimenting with international elements and modern techniques. We use locally sourced seasonal ingredients from Trøndelag - preferably from Orkland and the restaurant's own kitchen garden.

We adapt our 3-course menu according to the seasonal availability of ingredients. We are fortunate to work with some of the finest local producers of food and beverages in Trøndelag. We are happy to tailor beverage pairings – with or without alcohol – to complement your meal.

Bårdshaug Herregård is ideally located for access to fantastic ingredients from forests, mountains, sea, and shore. In the hotel's Restaurant Ministeren, you can experience the true taste of Trøndelag. Our food is authentic and locally sourced
Bårdshaug Manor has a strong partnership with local farms and producers, regularly receiving deliveries from the village and surrounding areas. In our seasonal menus, you'll often find these local food products: fish and shellfish from Hitra and Frøya, fruits and vegetables from Landrø Lensvik and Grindal, various cheeses from Orkladal Ysteri, eggs from Storkvikne Gård, potatoes from Solhus Gård, meat and cured meats from Renskleiv Gård, chicken from Norsk Kylling in Orkanger, wild plants from Trøndelag Sankeri, and honey from Fosslykkkja apiary. We also cultivate some vegetables and herbs, forage for mushrooms, berries, and wild plants, and maintain our own smokehouse for salmon and beehives in the manor garden during the summer. We bake sourdough bread, traditional pastries and home made cakes.
To accompany great food, we offer a selection of fine beverages. Our drink menu features excellent wines from various countries and regions, beers and mineral water from Trøndelag, and various exciting alcohol-free options from national producers. We also have a growing selection of regional aquavits, Norwegian ciders, and other delights to enjoy.

Bårdshaug Herregård offers both take-away and catering services featuring a selection of lunch dishes for our corporate clients, regardless of size. If you're hosting a meeting or a course in your own premises, "The Taste of Trøndelag" for lunch could be the perfect finishing touch for a complete meeting day.
Travelling to Bårdshaug Herregård
Orkanger is located along the E39 highway, and is a central hub in the region. It is a 30 minutes’ drive away from Trondheim, Løkken, Lensvik, Kyrksæterøra, Melhus and the E6 near Klett. The distance from Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately one hour. From Røros, Oppdal and Hitra it will take you a couple of hours by car. Travelling by public transport? The hotel is a two minute walk from Orkanger bus station. From here there are frequent bus services to and from Trondheim. See ATB for bus schedules.
