Summer at Bårdshaug Herregård and Orkland

Step into another era. At Bårdshaug Herregård, you will discover a beautiful manor park, rich industrial heritage, and genuine Trøndelag hospitality — just a 30-minute drive from Trondheim.

This summer, you can enjoy a concert with Vamp in our courtyard, indulge in a classic Afternoon Tea (27 June), or cast your line in the Orkla River during salmon fishing season. Nearby attractions include Orkla Industrimuseum with its historic mines and the Thamshavnbanen railway, the popular Orklandsbadet water park, and nature experiences in Sognlia and Knyken.

We have created a special summer package including accommodation, breakfast, and dinner — available from 29 June to 15 August. Or choose one of our unique packages, such as The Salmon Fisherman, specially designed for guests who want to combine a manor stay with an adventure in the salmon-rich waters of the Orkla River.

Stay, dine, and enjoy summer at Bårdshaug Herregård.

Your experience – Our pride.

Find peace and relaxation in Orkland – just half an hour from Trondheim

What awaits you at Bårdshaug Herregård

Bårdshaug Herregård is the perfect place to unwind. The hotel offers a welcoming lobby and a sunny outdoor area where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings.

If you would like to explore Orkanger, we recommend a walk or an e-bike ride around Orklaparken. You may also wish to visit the historic manor house itself, where you can immerse yourself in a remarkable chapter of world history led by Christian Thams. Our hosts know the story well and are happy to share insights into the estate’s unique heritage.

Subject to availability, guided tours can also be arranged of the impressive stave church known as Thamspaviljongen, Norway’s contribution to the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

There is plenty to see and experience while staying with us.
