Guided tour in the manor

Join us for a guided tour of a unique and majestic manor and hear the fascinating story of the family who lived there.

Just 30 minutes from Trondheim, centrally located in Orkanger, lies the beautiful Bårdshaug Herregård. The historical building undoubtedly stands out as you arrive in Orkanger, where it looms like a small castle in the middle of the main street. Not only is it beautiful and distinctive on the outside – it is equally splendid on the inside. Large parts of the unique interior of the building remain as they were in the early 1900s, giving you a real sense of what it was like to live here over 100 years ago..

Bårdshaug Herregård is not only a fantastically intriguing building. The manor is also part of an incredibly fascinating history. It’s not just the story of a unique family – the Thams family – but also a tale of innovation, industry, cross-border alliances, royalty, workers, love and betrayal. We can conduct storytelling in various ways depending on the group size and desired duration. For groups up to 20 people, it’s great to combine the guided tour with storytelling. For larger groups of up to 35 people, storytelling in the library is recommended, combined with time to explore the building on their own afterward.

  • All year
  • For 1-35 people
  • From 30-60 minutes depending on the group’s preferences and size
  • Included is a guided tour/storytelling for a group of up to 35 people

For larger groups, it may be advisable to divide the group into two and possibly combine it with an aperitif before dinner or wine tasting in the tower.
