Bårdshaug Herregård is a family-run hotel centrally located in the small town of Orkanger. Here you can stay in modern or historic surroundings, host a party in a majestic atmosphere, organise meetings, courses and conferences and dine well in the hotel’s inviting restaurant.
We are around 50 employees here at Bårdshaug. From the moment you arrive you are our guest, and our main priority is to make sure you are comfortable in every way. It is our honour and goal to provide you with a great experience. We would like you to leave with fond memories and a desire to return.

The hotel buildings, outdoor areas and parking
Majestic Bårdshaug Herregård dates back to the early 1900s and stands out from the hotel grounds like a small castle. Both the manor itself and the other charming older buildings in the grounds are frequently used for parties, meetings and lodging.
The pleasant and modern main building hosts most of the guest rooms, the banqueting hall and conference rooms, as well as the reception, the hotel kitchen and the restaurants Ministeren and Jaktbaren. This is where most of the action takes place and where you will be welcomed upon your arrival.
Between the main building and smaller building there are several pleasant outdoor areas, perfect for enjoying a lunch outside on a sunny day – or for parties, dinners or other events. We have a large garden, where you are welcome to take a stroll.
There is ample free parking right outside the hotel. Guests can also charge electric cars and Teslas free of charge.
We have accommodation facilities for more than 150 guests – and party and conference facilities for up to 120 people.

What are the main attractions outside the hotel?
Orkdalsføret valley is home to the small town of Orkanger and several interesting historic attractions – many from the period of the industrial revolution and Second World War. In the summertime, we recommend an outing on the historic Thamshavnbanen railway and the mines in Løkken.
The valley has abundant agriculture and many small-scale food producers supplying us with top quality produce. Some of the small-scale producers are open for group visits.
If you enjoy outdoor activities, you can go salmon fishing in Orkla, one of the prime salmon fishing rivers in Norway. You will also find many easily accessible hiking trails right on your doorstep, one of which runs along the river.
Bårdshaug Herregård is centrally located in Orkanger, where you will find enjoyable shops, a shopping centre, cafés and cultural attractions, all within walking distance.
Finding us
Orkanger is located along the E39 highway, and is a central hub in the region. It is a 30 minutes’ drive away from Trondheim, Løkken, Lensvik, Kyrksæterøra, Melhus and the E6 near Klett. The distance from Trondheim Airport Værnes is approximately one hour. From Røros, Oppdal and Hitra it will take you a couple of hours by car.
Travelling by public transport? The hotel is a two minute walk from Orkanger bus station. From here there are frequent bus services to and from Trondheim. See ATB for bus schedules.
