At Bårdshaug Manor, we strive for universal design as best we can, and always try to accommodate our guests' needs. Whether you have a disability or allergy – we ensure that you feel at home.
Accessibility for disabled individuals
Bårdshaug Herregård is wheelchair accessible both in the common areas and in the restaurant, with step-free access. The newer part of the hotel has an elevator, and an automatic door opener is installed at the main entrance. In the reception/lobby area, we have one toilet adapted for wheelchair users.
Guide/service dogs are warmly welcomed inside the hotel, and the modern hotel building is easy to navigate. We provide designated parking spaces for people with mobility impairments near the main entrance.

Rooms for wheelchair users
The hotel has six newer hotel rooms designed for wheelchair users. Four of them are on the ground floor, and two are located near emergency exits on the second floor. There is the option for assistance between the accommodation rooms, reception, and various common areas of the hotel, including the dining room and restaurant, as well as assistance with serving from, for example, the breakfast buffet.

Celebrations at the manor
The historical manor, built by Christian Thams and completed in 1904, is not as wheelchair accessible. We have wheelchair ramps available for use upon arrival, allowing entry with assistance from one of our staff members. The library, corner living room, and garden living room are then accessible. Unfortunately, there are no wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities in the manor, and guests cannot access the guest rooms, manor bath, or dining room without assistance up/down stairs.
Allergies and intolerances
In our breakfast buffet, we offer a fixed selection of products for allergy sufferers, in addition to clearly labeled allergens on our buffets and menus. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding accessibility and potential accommodations. We would love to hear from you!
Allergy-friendly rooms: All rooms offered at Bårdshaug Herregård are non-smoking and include 23 allergy-friendly rooms in our newly renovated accommodation wing. This means that guests booking an allergy-friendly room can expect carpet-free floors in the room, strict cleaning routines, and no pets located on the same floor. We also provide fragrance-free and allergy-friendly bathroom products, as well as allergy bedding, upon request from the guest.
Meetings and conferences
The hotel's banquet hall and meeting room 'Orkanger' are equipped with an induction loop system. There is also an elevator up to the meeting room wing 'Orkanger,' making it accessible for people with disabilities or wheelchair users if needed.
The newer part of the hotel has an elevator, and an automatic door opener is installed at the main entrance. The main entrance is step-free and wider than the minimum requirement of 90 cm. In the reception/lobby area, we have one toilet adapted for wheelchair users. The hotel has good procedures in place to ensure safety during fire alarms and evacuation, which also includes providing extra assistance for guests who may need it.
